Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a statement.
Officers state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then discovered numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; authorities are currently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for information.
An important official said the attack made him without words and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine people by a gunman targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
